French Chateau wedding photography is a speciality and a truly once in a lifetime event. The huge variety in the architecture of French chateau’s means that there is never a replication of images, unlike in the UK where wedding venues typically hold wedding at least once a week. The distinct and varied architecture of a chateau allows unique wedding photography in France incorporating beautiful surroundings with stonework that typically dates back several hundreds of years. The majority of chateaus in France will have a lake allowing beautiful photographs with reflections in the background that allow us to create stunning images. They are also usually located within areas that have outstanding views across rolling countryside with very few negative visual impacts. This allows us to capture relaxed landscaped wedding photographs, typically of the wedding guests meandering through the grounds or the bride and groom taking a relaxed stroll through parklands.
Chateau weddings in France also tend to be far more relaxed and informal than a traditional British wedding and the weather is generally far better. Guests will typically arrive days before the wedding allowing them to relax and absorb the mood and surroundings, the result is a far less stressed wedding which is captured in the images. The wedding day itself is usually a longer event with few restrictions on the movements of the guests. Many chateaus’ will have their own chapels or the wedding will take place within the grounds of the chateau itself. The catering for chateau weddings is also usually less formal although, as you would expect, the cuisine is typically outstanding! The evenings also tend to last longer than a British wedding as the climate lends itself to sitting outdoors and chatting with friends taking in some fantastic French wines and champagnes that are a fraction of the cost of the UK.
